Sointula, “A Place of Harmony”, was established in 1901 by a group of Finnish immigrants

who had a dream to start a self sufficient Utopian community.

This quaint seaside village is located on Malcolm Island, just off Northern Vancouver Island, and a short ferry ride from Port McNeill.

Visitors can enjoy many sites one the Island which include the Pulteney Point Heritage Lighthouse, the Sointula Museum, and Bere Point, where a viewing platform offers a chance to observe the rubbing beaches used by the passing orca.
